Dear friends,
Joyce and Jill from Chesapeake Earth Holders share an invitation with our sangha below:
As we emerge from the cold, dark days of winter to the warmth of spring, we are surrounded by the freshness of spring flowers, the exuberant calls of the birds, and the soft warmth of a spring breeze. Unfortunately, in our busy lives, it is easy to miss out on these wonders of nature and become distracted by modern life and its demands.
The sights and sounds of nature can be a powerful healing experience to counter the stress and distractions that take us away from the present moment. Mindful walking in nature, with the support of others, helps us to calm our feelings, release our thoughts, and return to the miracle of each step.
Please join us on Sunday, April 12th at Brookside Gardens Visitor’s Center in Wheaton, Maryland at 1 pm for a walk in mindful silence. We will walk about 2 miles, stopping occasionally to sit and immerse ourselves in the beauty of spring and listen to the sounds of nature. We will be walking on a paved trail, as well as some grassy areas with gentle slopes. We plan to be done at 4:00 pm.
When: Sunday, April 12, 2026
Time: 1-4 pm
Where: Brookside Gardens: 1800 Glenallen Ave, Wheaton, MD 20902
If you would like to join us in this mindful practice, please contact Joyce Bailey at Baileyjn2@gmail.com. Please include your email and cell phone number so we can send you additional details and let you know if the hike is cancelled due to inclement weather. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
With each step we make, may a flower bloom,
Joyce Bailey
