Letting Go and Acceptance
We invite you to join us on Sunday, November 1st, from 1:00 - 5:00 for an in-person half day of mindfulness, organized by the Events Circle, at the Opening Heart Mindfulness Community space, 3812 Northampton Street NW, Washington DC.
As we welcome the autumn months and see the falling leaves, we will be exploring the theme of letting go and acceptance. There is so much that demands our attention in Washington these days, but we only have so much energy to expend. Like the Scarlet Oak, DC’s Official Tree, we must let go of what we can’t carry in order to stay grounded. That way, we keep our energy for what really matters. We will have the opportunity to practice staying rooted together as we navigate our changing world.
During our time together, we will enjoy a guided deep relaxation, mindful movements or outdoor walking meditation (weather depending), a short silent meditation, a recorded talk, and time to share our experiences with each other. We hope you can join us.
Because we know the benefits of having a wide diversity of experience in our sanghas, we explicitly welcome people of all races, shapes, sizes, neurodiversities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, and anyone who has ever felt sidelined or marginalized for any reason.
Space is limited to 25, so please sign up early.
The Opening Heart Mindfulness Community seeks to foster understanding and compassion by providing vibrant and generous opportunities to practice mindfulness within a diverse community in the Plum Village tradition, founded by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. We recognize that in supporting racial and social justice equity within our sangha and throughout the mahasangha, we support the work of transformation individually and collectively.
