Adopt a Family during the holidays

Deadline is Sunday, December 7

Dear Friends,

The Opening Heart Mindfulness Community (OHMC) has once again been invited by Community Family Life Services (CFLS) to participate in their Adopt-A-Family project this holiday season. CFLS is a dedicated organization that empowers children, families, and adults to overcome poverty and homelessness. In addition, CFLS provides vital support to women re-entering society after incarceration, helping them achieve lasting stability and self-sufficiency.

Through the Adopt-A-Family Project, children and their mothers share holiday wish lists, and donors have the opportunity to purchase gifts directly from these lists or donate gift cards. This year marks OHMC’s fifth year supporting this meaningful initiative.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:

This year, we hope to adopt six families with a total of 15 children—seven girls and eight boys, ranging in age from one to eighteen.

You may:

  • Contribute individually

  • Collaborate with others to share the cost of gifts

  • Donate gift cards in lieu of gifts (please identify the child and the intended gift)

Please note that families understand they may not receive every item on their wish list and are deeply appreciative of all gifts received.

Find the wish lists and sign up
